KIM SISTERS (김시스터즈) “Their first album” 12 inch vinyl LP (Korean) LKL 1005

Although this site web site is predominately devoted to non-Korean vinyl releases of Korean music, I have decided to occasionally include some odd Korean pressing items from my collection that are of special interest or have especially cool covers.

KIM SISTERS (김시스터즈) “Their first album” 12 inch vinyl LP Tracks: Harbor Lights/Try To Remember/China Nights/Chinese lullaby/Danny Boy/Hawaiian Wedding Song/Arirang/You Can Have Everything/Hallelujah I love her so (South Korea) L-K-L LKL 1005  (19?? – this South Korean record is usually credited as being 1970 but I suspect that the actual 1970 pressing is the reissue on the white Shin-Jin label rather than this 1st pressing on the LKL label. This may be mid 1960s?)
Collectors notes: This South Korean release is much rarer than the US releases (stereo and mono). This first pressing is particularly hard to find.
Mic’s collection status: I have this LP in pretty nice condition. The cover is extremely clean but the disc is a little scuffed. Still not easy to find tho.

KIM SISTERS (김시스터즈) “This is my life” 12 inch vinyl LP Tracks: 김치깍두기/봄아가씨/달없는 항로/봄맞이/고향/아리랑/목포의 눈물/다방의 푸른꿈/목포는 항구다/코스모스탄식/진달래수첩/알아달라우요 (South Korea) Oasis OL 1670  (1975 – tribute album to the Kim Sisters’ mother Lee (Yi) Nan-young (이난영) including the song Tears of Mokpo.)
Collectors notes: Yes – the picture above (of my copy) is the same as found of this release on some Korean websites. It is the same record.
Mic’s collection status: I have this LP in actually quite OK condition except as seen from the picture the cover has sleeve taping around the edges. Actually a very hard one to find in any condition.

Information wanted: just on Kim Sisters Korean pressings I’m interested in any information about this release (pictured above). The release date is given on one online site as 1960 but please note … much of the online information about Kim Sisters LP release dates is inaccurate. Catalogue numbers are the best indication of actual release dates and matrix numbers are the best indication of recording dates. Any information on this disc would be much appreciated.
